PAMI irregularities investigation expands in Tierra del Fuego

National Deputy Jorge Araujo has announced an expansion of a formal complaint regarding alleged irregularities in PAMI services in Tierra del Fuego. The move follows a lack of response from current agency authorities to previous information requests.

The investigation covers various medical services, including dentistry, ophthalmology, ambulance services, and the issuance of medical orders. Araujo noted that the initial investigation was triggered by highly questionable prescriptions, such as requests for pregnancy-related studies for an 80-year-old woman and specific diagnostic tests for pathologies not present in the region.

Because the authorization process is digital, the investigation is also looking into the potential misuse of professional credentials within the electronic system used to authorize payments between Tierra del Fuego and Buenos Aires.
