PAMI provides free medical accessories for retirees
PAMI, Argentina's healthcare provider for retirees and pensioners, offers a free medical accessory program designed for affiliates with mobility issues. The program provides three specific types of technical aid: pressure ulcer mattresses (colchones antiescaras) for patients with high immobility, portable toilets for those with difficulty reaching bathrooms, and trapezes to assist with movement and position changes.
To access these benefits, a medical indication is mandatory. If a physician issues an Electronic Medical Order (OME), the request can be initiated directly through the system. In cases where an OME is not available, applicants must provide the affiliate's ID, a manual medical order from a specialist or primary doctor, and a clinical history summary including the patient's weight and height.
Applications can be managed by the affiliate, a representative, a family member, or the treating physician. While the program focuses on these specific accessories, PAMI also provides other technical aids such as walkers, canes, orthopedic beds, crutches, and wheelchairs.
