Pampa Energía synthetic rubber plant closure threatens 200 jobs, SOEPU union protests

The State Oil and Energy Union (SOEPU) warned that the planned shutdown of Pampa Energía's synthetic rubber plant will eliminate more than 200 positions, directly affecting hundreds of families in the Gran Rosario region. The plant produces a strategic input for Argentina's petrochemical sector, and its loss could disrupt a value chain that includes large, medium and small enterprises.

SOEPU announced it will take the claim to all necessary institutional arenas to preserve national production and the strategic industry. The union thanked politician Jorge Sola for his political backing and highlighted the importance of unified labor action to defend both jobs and the broader petrochemical industry.
