Pampers details safety testing and skin compatibility for baby wipes

Pampers conducts safety and skin compatibility testing on the ingredients and formulations of its baby wipes. The process includes material selection, production monitoring, and finished product testing to ensure compliance with legal safety requirements.

To support newborn skin health, the wipes utilize a pH buffering system designed to restore the skin’s natural, slightly acidic pH level following contact with urine and stool. The brand’s products undergo various external evaluations, including dermatological tests, accreditation by the Skin Health Alliance, and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification.

A 2021 study published in Pediatric Dermatology examined a combined routine of diapers with protective balm and pH-balancing wipes. The research indicated that infants using this specific combination experienced less frequent severe forms of diaper rash, though the study noted the results apply to the specific product combination rather than the wipes in isolation.
