Pampilhosa da Serra Raises Municipal Flag to Kick Off August Celebrations

On 31 July, the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra held its traditional flag‑raising ceremony, marking the official start of August. The event was attended by Vice‑President of the Câmara Municipal Alexandra Tomé and councilor João Neves, who urged residents and visitors to "marry" with the town and celebrate its heritage.

The flag‑raising signals a month of cultural activities, including the Summer Nights open‑air concerts, a stage of the Volta a Portugal cycling race on 9 August, the Raízes Folk Fest on 10 August, the municipal festival and craft fair from 12‑16 August, and a special "Nature, Yoga and Stars" program featuring a solar eclipse and the Perseids meteor shower.
