Pamplona expands therapeutic exercise prescription program

The Pamplona City Council and the Navarrese Health Service have established a new agreement to expand the ‘Citius, Longaevus, Fortius’ program, also known as the social-sports prescription. This initiative will extend the service from nine existing health centers to all fourteen health centers in the city.

The program provides prescriptions for physical exercise, therapeutic sports, and community social activities. It specifically targets individuals over the age of 50 to address health issues related to inactivity, frailty syndrome, and unwanted loneliness. Since its launch in 2021, the program has issued 1,540 prescriptions, with a significant portion issued to women.

Implementation involves coordination between primary care professionals at health centers and external professionals under the supervision of the Pamplona City Council.
