Pamplona traffic congestion and road maintenance issues

The UGT union section, representing urban transport drivers in Pamplona, has expressed serious concern regarding the city's worsening traffic congestion and deteriorating road conditions. Drivers report that recent municipal decisions have exacerbated daily gridlock, specifically citing the Badostain road roundabout near the Avia gas station and the city center as major problem areas.

Critics highlight a discrepancy in municipal spending, noting that while significant public funds are being used to renew the bus fleet, budgets for asphalt maintenance have been cut. This has resulted in poor road conditions on key routes such as San Ignacio and Baja Navarra, which impacts both commuters and vehicle maintenance.

Furthermore, the union has criticized the implementation of turbo roundabouts, which they claim cause congestion rather than improving flow, and noted a lack of dedicated bus lanes. The UGT is calling for concrete measures, including proper road maintenance and improved infrastructure to support urban transport.
