Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship begins in Jamaica

The inaugural Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship has commenced in Kingston, Jamaica, serving as a continental qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Tokyo. The tournament features nine nations divided into two pools.

In Pool A, the United States secured a dominant 23-5 victory over Puerto Rico. Veteran player Eric Law contributed five goals and two assists to the win. The U.S. is currently tied at the top of the pool with host Jamaica.

In Pool B, Canada improved to 2-0 following a 12-goal victory over the Haudenosaunee, positioning themselves to potentially secure early qualification for the World Championship. Mexico also earned a crucial win against the U.S. Virgin Islands to improve their standing in the pool.

The top five teams from this championship will qualify for the 2027 World Championship, while the remaining four will compete in a Division II event.
