Pan American Youth Karate Championship concludes in Costa Rica

The XXXV Pan American Youth Karate Championship concluded in Cartago, Costa Rica, featuring approximately 1,000 athletes from 25 nations. The United States secured the top position in the tournament with 12 gold, 11 silver, and 14 bronze medals, followed by Brazil and Chile.

Mexico achieved a significant performance, earning a total of 13 medals, including 5 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze across the sub-12, sub-14, cadet, and junior categories. Notable Mexican gold medalists included Alexia Sánchez De León, Tomás Acosta, Valeria Linnett Juárez, and Marco Antonio Almeida.

Bolivia finished in ninth place overall, securing six medals: one gold, three silver, and two bronze. Ariadne Plata earned the gold medal in the U12 Female Kumite -47 kg category. Kjarol Herrera, president of the Bolivian Karate Federation, noted the achievement as a great result for the country.
