PAN Chihuahua leader Daniela Álvarez sets new rules for internal candidacy process
State president of the National Action Party (PAN) in Chihuahua, Daniela Álvarez, announced that the deadline for submitting expressions of interest for the party’s municipal mayoral candidacy has been extended to 20 July. The party will publish the formal call on 21 July, launching the internal selection process for the 2027 municipal election.
Álvarez emphasized that no individual is above the party, calling for unity, respect for the established rules, and an even playing field for all aspirants. The process will be coordinated with the PAN National Executive Committee and the party’s national president, Jorge Romero Herrera, reflecting the strategic importance of Chihuahua City for the party. She also condemned personal attacks and political pressure from rival parties, urging members to keep disputes within the institutional framework.
