PAN faces internal disputes over Coyoacán mayoral candidates

Internal tensions are rising within the National Action Party (PAN) regarding the upcoming mayoral race in Coyoacán. Fernando Cravioto, a former director general of Social Development in Coyoacán, recently resigned from his position to ensure he does not use public office to gain an advantage over other contenders.

Cravioto has called for the resignation of Héctor Barrera, the party's General Secretary, to prevent him from acting as both a participant and a decision-maker in the selection process. This demand follows social media activity by Barrera that some interpreted as an unofficial campaign launch. Currently, Rossy Romero is reported to lead preference polls among party members and the general public, with Cravioto in second place.

In a broader context, PAN deputy Jhosué Rodríguez Golib stated that the party's guidelines require those aspiring to elective office to resign from their current positions to ensure fairness.
