Panadda Wongphuedi addresses forest encroachment allegations

Thai actress and television host Panadda Wongphuedi, known as Bum Panadda, is preparing a press conference to address allegations that her husband, Athip, is involved in the illegal occupation of 100 rai of forest reserve land in Nakhon Nayok province.

The controversy began following claims by the social media page CSI LA, which alleged the land was being used for a resort and a trail-running track. Panadda expressed distress over the situation, stating she had made a misjudgment based on misplaced trust in others and is currently gathering documentation to clarify the matter.

Athip has denied the allegations of illegal forest clearance, asserting that the land is military-managed property currently undergoing a transfer to the Treasury Department. He maintained that his involvement is limited to a year-to-year rights lease as a business partner rather than land ownership.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin noted that the disputed parcels fall under the Treasury Department, with the Royal Forest Department also holding lease arrangements in the vicinity. A specialized government task force is scheduled to inspect the site on October 26 and 27 to determine the legal status and exact boundaries of the land.
