Panadería Artiaga wins international heritage bakery award
Panadería Artiaga, located in the Saavedra neighborhood of Buenos Aires, has been named ‘Heritage Craft Bakery of the Year 2026’ by the British magazine LuxLife as part of the Bake & Brew Awards. The recognition highlights the establishment's commitment to traditional artisanal methods and technical innovation, including the use of solar panels and certified organic raw materials.
Founded in 1931, the bakery is currently managed by the third generation of its founding family. The business has a history of national success, including being named Argentina's Best Classic Bakery at the Clarín Awards in 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as winning the Argentine Panettone Championship in 2021.
In response to this international distinction, a project has been introduced to the Buenos Aires City Legislature to formally recognize the bakery and its master baker, Juan Manuel Alfonso Rodríguez, for their contribution to preserving traditional trades in the city.
