Panagia Prousiotissa Monastery stands in the mountains of Evrytania

The Panagia Prousiotissa Monastery, also known as Prouso Monastery, is a significant religious and historical destination located in the rugged mountains of Evrytania, Greece. Situated approximately 35–36 kilometers from Karpenisi, the monastery is built upon a steep rocky formation, creating a natural fortress-like appearance within the mountainous landscape.

The site is centered around the cave chapel of Euresis, which houses the miraculous icon of Panagia Prousiotissa. According to tradition, the icon originated from Prusa in Asia Minor and was brought to Greece during the Iconoclasm to protect it from destruction, eventually being discovered in a cave at the monastery's current location.

Architectural elements of the complex include a catholicon built in 1754, frescoes completed in 1785, and an impressive wood-carved iconostasis dating from 1810. The monastery's major feast day is celebrated on August 23 during the Nine Days of Panagia.
