Jerome Boateng to join Trabzonspor as coach

Jerome Boateng is returning to professional football as a coach for the Turkish club Trabzonspor. The move has sparked significant discussion on the podcast ‘Safran und Sauerkraut, ehrlich ehrenlos’.

Podcast hosts Noah and Julian expressed surprise at the appointment, noting that Boateng is transitioning into a coaching role rather than continuing as a player. The hosts discussed various motivations for the move, including potential financial reasons and the possibility that Trabzonspor seeks the publicity that comes with hiring a high-profile name. The discussion also touched upon Boateng’s public history and the lack of ‘cancel culture’ within the football industry.
