Panagiota Petridou Defends Four‑Year Breastfeeding Amid Online Criticism

German television presenter Panagiota Petridou, known for automotive programmes, said she breastfed her son for four years and four months, ending the practice when the child chose to wean himself. She described breastfeeding as "the most natural thing in the world" and said she would do it again, despite a wave of negative comments on social media.

Petridou emphasized that support from her partner and a strong personal resolve helped her withstand the criticism. She noted that other public figures, such as former model and "Germany's Next Topmodel" contestant Sara Kulka, have also faced harsh online backlash for their breastfeeding choices, with Kulka setting a three‑year limit for her daughters.

Both women stress that criticism should not dictate personal parenting decisions, highlighting an ongoing debate about long‑term breastfeeding in the public eye.
