Panagiotis Ftaras recognized in IANO photography competition

Photographer Panagiotis Ftaras has been recognized as one of the top ten winners in the 9th IANO Storytelling & Photography Competition. The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the IANO center in Athens.

Ftaras’s winning entry, captured in the fields surrounding Katerini, was part of this year’s theme, ‘Nature with Broken Wings.’ The photograph features a solitary, bare tree set against a vast rural landscape, utilizing a black-and-white aesthetic to evoke themes of solitude, memory, and the relationship between humanity and the natural environment.

The competition aims to provide a platform for hundreds of participants to express themselves through writing and imagery, focusing on how the natural world serves as a source of emotion and reflection.
