Panagiotis Giounis advances to round of 32 at European Championships

Greek table tennis player Panagiotis Giounis has advanced to the round of 32 at the European Championships in Ljubljana. Giounis secured his progression after his scheduled match against Denmark's Anders Lind was canceled because Lind was unable to compete due to fever.

By reaching this stage, Giounis has also officially secured his participation in the 2027 World Table Tennis Championships. His next opponent is scheduled to be Italy's Matteo Mutti, who advanced after defeating Belgium's Martin Alegre.

Other Greek participants faced different results in Ljubljana. Giannis Sgouropoulos was eliminated following a close five-set match against John Ogemponde, while Katerina Toliou also exited the competition after a loss in the women's singles event.
