Panagiotis Margaris presents 'Mediterranean' concert in Rethymno as Epidaurus hosts family trio music night

Classical guitarist and composer Panagiotis Margaris will debut his new musical project “Mediterranean” on Tuesday, 4 August, at 21:30 in the Municipal Garden of Rethymno. The program blends Portuguese fados, Lower‑Italian melodies and iconic songs by Lucio Dalla, Jacques Brel, Nino Rota and Mikis Theodorakis, alongside solo guitar pieces from Margaris’s own catalogue. He will be joined on stage by vocalist Katerina Verbéri. The show is described as a high‑emotion tribute to the music and soul of the peoples surrounding the Mediterranean, and the tour is slated to travel across Greece and abroad in 2026.

The municipality of Epidaurus and the community of Demen are inviting residents and visitors to a free evening of Greek music titled “Three Voices… One Heart” on Monday, 3 August, at 21:00 in Demen Square. Siblings Maria, George and Tasos Kontogiannopoulos will perform a repertoire of art, folk and traditional Greek songs using violin, guitar, bouzouki and flute, highlighting the family’s musical heritage and the unifying power of song.
