Panagiotis Stathis discusses career shift to ERT

Journalist and presenter Panagiotis Stathis has reflected on his recent professional transitions, specifically his move to the public broadcaster ERT to host ‘Kalimera Ellada’.

Stathis addressed his departure from OPEN, noting that although he had already signed a contract, he chose to leave to pursue a new challenge. He stated that he attempted to explain his decision in a timely manner to avoid leaving the station in a difficult position.

Regarding his time at ANT1, Stathis clarified that his departure was a mutual decision following a year where the project did not meet expectations. He revealed that he had received counter-offers to host weekend programming and participate in news bulletins, but ultimately decided to move to ERT. He acknowledged that his career choices came with personal and professional costs, stating, “I have learned that everything has a price. I paid that price in every way.”
