Panama achieves historic representation in Women in Tech LATAM Awards

Panama is seeing significant representation at the Women in Tech® LATAM Awards 2026, with eight finalists nominated across various categories. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Cartagena, Colombia.

The Panamanian finalists represent diverse generations and sectors, ranging from young students in STEM to established professionals who have influenced the country's technological, educational, and economic development. Notable nominees include 16-year-old Samantha Valentina Matos Gutiérrez for the Aspiring Teen Award, Andrea González for the Best Ally Award, and Jeanette Shakalli for the Most Impactful Initiative Award.

In conjunction with these developments, the WISS LATAM summit is being held in Panama City. This international summit brings together female leaders, entrepreneurs, and specialists from over 12 countries to discuss innovation, sustainability, and leadership. The event features discussions on corporate transformation and digitalization, including insights from business leaders such as CEO Stanley Motta.
