Panama launches ‘Host of the World’ brand to boost investment and tourism
Panama has officially launched its new national brand, ‘Panama, Host of the World’ (Panamá, Anfitrión del Mundo), a strategic initiative designed to unify the country’s international image. Presented by the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) and Promtur, the campaign focuses on five key pillars: tourism, investment, exports, logistics, and sustainability.
Supported by an initial investment of approximately $6.5 million, the branding aims to position Panama as a global hub for business and travel, leveraging its strategic location and the Panama Canal. President José Raúl Mulino emphasized that the brand should serve as a permanent state policy rather than a political tool, proposing that it be converted into law through the National Assembly to ensure continuity across different administrations.
In addition to the national branding, the country is advancing its maritime and logistical infrastructure. The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) is working with the Logistics Business Council (COEL) to develop the Puerto Armuelles multipurpose pier, aiming to transform the region into a strategic cargo node. Furthermore, Panama has announced it will host the 2nd Maritime Convention of the Americas in 2027, reinforcing its status as a regional maritime capital.
