Panama and Ecuador advance gender equality and workplace protection initiatives

Governmental and international organizations are advancing gender equality initiatives in Panama and Ecuador.

In Panama, the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) is coordinating with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to update the National Protocol for the Prevention, Identification, and Response to Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. This effort, led by the National Council for Gender Parity, aims to strengthen national frameworks and align them with international standards to promote economic equality for women.

In Ecuador, the National Council for Gender Equality (CNIG) is collaborating with the Military Geographic Institute (IGM) to implement the National Agenda for Gender Equality 2025–2029. The partnership involves using cartographic resources to ensure that public policies addressing the rights of women and LGBTI+ individuals account for the specific social, cultural, and geographic realities of different territories across the country.
