Panama and El Salvador seek to strengthen trade and diplomatic cooperation
Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez has arrived in San Salvador for an official visit to strengthen strategic relations and regional integration with El Salvador. The visit coincides with the 117th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
During meetings with Salvadoran Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill, the officials discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and economic development. The discussions focused on leveraging the productive and logistical platforms of both countries to create new business opportunities and productive projects.
In addition to economic goals, the two nations signed an academic cooperation agreement between their respective diplomatic training institutions to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Martínez-Acha is also scheduled to meet with Lina Ajoy Rojas, the new Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), to discuss strengthening the organization's institutional framework and regional development projects.
