Panama attracts international investors amid economic growth
Panama is increasingly viewed favorably by international banks and investors, with some describing the nation as ‘the darling of the American Continent’ during a recent financial mission in New York.
Minister of Economy and Finance Felipe Chapman reported that investors expressed interest in Panama’s ability to maintain economic expansion while managing public finances. The country recorded a 4.4% growth rate in 2025 and a 6.4% year-on-year increase in the second quarter of 2026.
Major financial institutions, including Citi, JP Morgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and BBVA, requested meetings to discuss the country's economic evolution. The investment appeal is attributed to Panama’s dollarized economy, logistical position, fiscal discipline, and capacity to meet financial commitments.
