Panama Canal draft reductions and Argentine political criticism

In Panama, the Panama Canal Authority announced that starting August 26, it will progressively reduce the maximum authorized draft for Neopanamax vessels due to current water levels and projections for Lake Gatun. Additionally, following the resignation of Education Minister Lucy Molinar, the Chamber of Commerce has called for a comprehensive renewal of education laws and transparency regarding an investigation into laptop purchases.

In Argentina, National Deputy Lourdes Arrieta, formerly of the La Libertad Avanza party, expressed her disappointment with President Javier Milei’s administration. Arrieta criticized the government's direction, citing an increase in hate speech and a lack of empathy toward vulnerable sectors. She also filed a request for information regarding the allocation of funds collected from liquid fuel taxes.
