Panama City launches B/. 3.3 million tender for 2026 Christmas lighting
The municipal government of Panama City has opened a competitive bidding process for the 2026 Christmas lighting project, with a budget of B/. 3.3 million. The contract, issued through PanamaCompra, covers design, installation, maintenance and dismantling of decorative LED structures in 35 public locations across the district’s 26 corregimientos, including plazas, parks, bridges and the Cinta Costera. The schedule calls for installation to begin in October, testing in November, an official lighting ceremony on 29 November, and removal by 31 January 2027.
Applicants must demonstrate prior experience with at least two public LED lighting projects valued at a minimum of B/. 2 million each, provide audited financial statements showing a liquidity ratio of ≥ 1.5 and a debt‑to‑equity ratio of ≤ 1.0, and possess the technical capacity to supply a fleet of vehicles and cranes. Bids will be evaluated on price (40 %), administrative and experience criteria (30 %), financial solidity (20 %), and technical design (10 %).
