Panama Forward Riley Tanner Leaves Sydney FC After Golden Boot Season

Panama international forward Riley Tanner, a 26‑year‑old United States‑born winger, has departed Australian club Sydney FC. The striker joined the Sky Blues for the 2025‑26 A‑League Women season, playing 18 matches (15 starts) and scoring five goals with one assist, finishing as the club’s Golden Boot winner.

Club officials confirmed her exit ahead of the 2026‑27 season. Head coach James Slaveski praised Tanner’s professionalism and impact, while Tanner thanked the club and teammates for a "incredibly special" year. Sydney FC also announced the departure of midfielder Claudia Valletta as her contract expired.

The move ends Tanner’s one‑year stint in Australia, during which she featured in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup for Panama. She is expected to seek a new professional challenge while remaining a key player for the Panama national team.
