Panama Fourth Bridge and Argentina Salado River Bridge Construction Progress
In Argentina, work on the new bridge spanning the Salado River between the city and Santa Fe has moved to the most technically demanding phase. Administrator Pablo Seghezzo confirmed that the final five piles and six columns are being installed in the river channel, using a specially equipped floating platform to place the foundations. The project is now on pile 132 of the 136 planned, with parallel work continuing on bridge girders and access modifications.
In Panama, the Fourth Bridge project over the Panama Canal has completed a continuous 1,600 cubic‑metre concrete pour for the head of the western main tower (M4). Field manager Michael Pascual described a 30‑hour operation involving 124 workers per shift, forming the 20‑pile and steel‑box foundation that will support a tower reaching about 186 metres above sea level. The bridge will feature a 965‑metre span, a 75‑metre navigation clearance for Neo‑Panamax vessels, six traffic lanes and pedestrian walkways, and extensive access viaducts.
