Panama hosts World Economic Forum meeting to attract foreign investment
The World Economic Forum (WEF), in collaboration with the Panamanian government, is hosting a Country Strategy Meeting in Panama City. The event brings together global and regional business leaders, including CEOs and board chairs from 27 multinational companies, to discuss strategic priorities and economic perspectives.
Representing President José Raúl Mulino, Minister of the Presidency Juan Carlos Orillac highlighted Panama’s resilience following the earthquake on October 9, 2026. The forum aims to present the nation's vision to investors and promote foreign direct investment as a driver for employment. Discussions include high-level meetings with state ministers regarding macroeconomic stability, investment climate reforms, and key sectors such as air connectivity, ports, the Colón Free Trade Zone, and the financial center.
