Panama improves global ranking at Flag Football World Championship

Panama's men's and women's national flag football teams achieved improved global rankings at the 2026 World Championship held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The women's team finished in 7th place. After a 2-1 group stage record with wins against Japan and Brazil, they lost to Great Britain in the quarterfinals. They secured 7th place by defeating Spain 38-27 in the consolidation round, improving from their 10th-place finish in the previous tournament.

The men's team also secured 7th place, marking an improvement from 13th in the last championship. Following a 2-1 group stage that included victories over France and Great Britain, they lost to Mexico in the quarterfinals. They concluded the tournament with a 33-32 victory over Germany.

In the championship finals, the United States men's team defeated Italy 46-26, while the Canadian women's team won the title by defeating the United States 27-20.
