Panama police seize illegal firearms in Pilón, Colón province
The National Police of Panama continued its Plan Firmeza operations, reporting 193 arrests in the past 24 hours across the country. In the township of Pilón, Colón Province, officers seized a rifle, a charger, ammunition and three drug packages, recovering a vehicle and seizing cash worth about $15,400.
During a separate check at a local recreation center in Pilón, Major Carlos Caicedo confirmed that police found a briefcase containing pistols and revolvers without permits, and minors were observed drinking alcohol. The weapons were confiscated and investigations are underway to determine responsibility. Possession of unregistered firearms in Panama carries heavy fines and imprisonment.
