Panama President Mulino to visit Ecuador for bilateral talks

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino is scheduled to visit Guayaquil, Ecuador, on Friday, September 4, for a bilateral meeting with President Daniel Noboa. The discussions will focus on trade, investment, security, and migration.

During the visit, several official agreements are expected to be signed. The Panamanian Minister of Commerce and the Ecuadorian Minister of Economic Development and Productivity will sign terms of reference for an Ecuador-Panama Partial Scope Agreement. Additionally, the foreign ministers of both nations will sign an inter-institutional agreement for the exchange of migratory information to promote safe and orderly migration.

The meeting also aims to address security cooperation, specifically targeting the fight against transnational organized crime, which officials have identified as a significant threat to regional democracy.
