Panama sees new hotel development and retail expansion

MERCAN Group has announced its first hotel project in Panama, the Pullman Panama City. Developed in partnership with Accor, the project will transform an existing asset in the Bella Vista district into a mixed-use development. The facility is expected to include over 300 rooms, including 126 executive suites, alongside event spaces, dining options, a rooftop bar, a gym, and a spa. The opening is scheduled for 2028.

In the retail sector, Ecuadorian company Colineal has opened its second store in Panama, located in Terrazas de Costa Verde. The expansion involved an investment of approximately $215,000 for the 620-square-meter space. The new location introduces the Colineal Dreams line to the Panamanian market, focusing on wellness and rest products. The company aims to increase its sales in Panama by 40% through this expansion, which also supports the production and export chain in Ecuador.
