Panamanian authorities seize 2,560 drug packages

The National Aeronaval Service (Senan) of Panama reported the seizure of 2,560 drug packages during an operation on the Pacific coast, south of Punta Burica. Three men were arrested during the operation involving a low-profile vessel (LPV).

While authorities did not specify the exact type of narcotics or the total weight of the shipment, the packages typically weigh approximately one kilogram each. The seizure follows a year in which Panama reported seizing more than 100 tons of illicit substances. Due to its geographic position and logistical infrastructure, Panama remains a strategic point for international drug trafficking routes.
