Santa Fe presents 2027 Budget focusing on fiscal balance and rural infrastructure

The government of Santa Fe, Argentina, has submitted its 2027 Budget project to the provincial legislature. The proposal outlines total resources of approximately $18.88 trillion pesos against expenditures of $18.87 trillion pesos, aiming for a financial surplus of roughly $919 million pesos.

Key pillars of the budget include fiscal austerity and operational efficiency. Major investment priorities are identified as education, culture, and sports ($3.98 trillion), security ($2.34 trillion), public works and housing ($2.13 trillion), productive infrastructure ($1.92 trillion), and health ($1.80 trillion).

A significant component of the plan is the creation of the Santa Fe Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (FIAS). Under this initiative, 100% of the revenue collected from the Rural Real Estate Tax will be earmarked specifically for the agricultural sector, primarily for the repair and maintenance of rural roads and other productive infrastructure.
