Panamanian coaches head pitching staff for Nicaragua and Mexico at Central American and Caribbean Games

Former Panamanian pitchers Lenín Picota and Santos Hernández have been appointed as pitching coaches for the national baseball teams of Nicaragua and Mexico respectively ahead of the Central American and Caribbean Games in the Dominican Republic. Picota, who coordinates Nicaragua’s pitching corps and has previously guided four winter‑league clubs and the Tigres de Chinandega to a championship, said the team will rely on a modest but well‑trained group of local pitchers. Hernández brings over a decade of experience from Mexico’s professional leagues to bolster the Mexican squad’s arm strength. Both nations will meet Panama in Group B of the tournament.

Their appointments highlight the cross‑border exchange of baseball expertise in the region and aim to improve the pitching performance of the two teams as they compete for medals in the regional games.
