Panamanian construction and mining firms highlight roles at Expo CAPAC 2026

During Expo CAPAC 2026, several key players in Panama's construction and resource sectors highlighted their roles in national development. Grupo Metales officially unveiled a new corporate identity, integrating its previous brands—Metales S.A., Tubotec, and ZICSA—under a single brand to streamline operations and modernize service delivery for the construction sector.

With a 56-year history in Panama, Grupo Metales has supplied materials for major infrastructure projects, including the Panama Metro Line 1, the Tocumen International Airport expansion, and the Panama Bay Sanitation Program. The company's reorganization aims to provide integrated solutions for steel, piping, PVC, and roofing through its four branches and five production plants.

Simultaneously, Cobre Panamá utilized the event to promote dialogue regarding responsible mining. The company emphasized the critical role of copper in electrical conductivity and the global energy transition, noting that mining provides essential raw materials for construction projects. Cobre Panamá hosted an interactive stand to engage with the public and address questions regarding responsible mining practices.
