Panamanian President Mulino to visit Singapore and Vietnam

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino, accompanied by First Lady Maricel Cohen, will embark on a working tour of Asia to expand markets and strengthen strategic alliances in maritime, trade, and technology sectors.

The tour begins in Singapore on October 4, where Mulino is scheduled to meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The visit is expected to result in the signing of six bilateral agreements, including a convention for carbon credit exchange and a partnership regarding the National Semiconductor Strategy. Other planned cooperation areas include air services, maritime logistics, and the merchant marine.

Following Singapore, the President will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam, to reinforce political, economic, and commercial ties. The agenda in Vietnam includes discussions on security, agriculture, maritime education, tourism, and transport. Panama aims to position itself as a logistics platform and a gateway for Vietnamese products entering Latin American markets. Mulino is scheduled to meet with Vietnamese President To Lam and National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man during the visit.
