Panama's Omar Park Launches First Solar-Powered Water‑From‑Air Fountain

Panama inaugurated a pilot system that extracts humidity from the air, condenses it and purifies the water using solar‑powered panels. The unit, installed in the Parque Recreativo Omar in Panama City, provides free, certified potable water to visitors year‑round without reliance on wells, pipes or external power.

Developed by Alternative Water Corp., the technology is presented as a social‑responsibility project intended for donation to remote communities where water access is limited. Company manager Alexander Ermakov emphasized its autonomous, low‑impact design, while park director María del Carmen Salaverry highlighted the initiative’s contribution to sustainability and public health.
