Panamericana Sur segment closed in Chala, Peru for water‑sewer works
A stretch of the Panamericana Sur highway in the district of Chala, Caravelí province, will be temporarily closed from 30 June through the end of July while the Consorcio Saneamiento Chala carries out water‑potable and sewage‑system upgrades. Traffic will be rerouted: north‑to‑south drivers must use Caravelí Street, Nations United Avenue, Circunvalación, Sebastián Barranca and Miguel Grau; south‑to‑north drivers will follow Francisco Bolognesi, Circunvalación, Nations United and Kennedy. The consortium advises motorists and residents to obey signage and keep diversion routes clear to avoid congestion. Upon completion, the project is expected to modernise water and sewer services for more than 10,000 residents of Chala.
