Panarea hosts opening stage of 24th Eolie Running Tour

The 24th Eolie Running Tour has commenced on the island of Panarea, marking the first time this location has hosted a stage of the traditional summer road running event. Organized by Polisportiva Europa Messina and sanctioned by Fidal, the tour consists of five stages held over six days.

In the opening stage, which covered approximately 3.5 km, Antonino Lollo of Gruppo Alpinistico Vertovese won the men's race with a time of 12:07. Valerie Woodland of Atletica Villafranca secured the women's victory, finishing in 15:42. The race was noted for its technical, hilly terrain and sweltering heat.

The competition continues with upcoming stages scheduled in Lipari, Stromboli, Salina, and concluding in Vulcano.
