Panasonic begins local production of PB5 Series floor‑standing ACs in Indonesia

Panasonic has started manufacturing its Commercial Air Conditioner (CAC) floor‑standing PB5 Series at PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI). Production commenced in July 2026, and the units have received a Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) certification covering 41.25% of components, meeting Indonesia’s President Instruction No. 2/2022 and related ministerial regulations.

The PB5 Series uses the low‑global‑warming‑potential R32 refrigerant, which reduces GWP by up to 67% compared with R410a and improves energy efficiency. Director Arif Gobel of PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia said the move supports national manufacturing independence, eases procurement for government and corporate customers, and strengthens the local economy. The product line includes several capacity variants (2PK, 3PK, 5PK) for diverse commercial spaces.
