Panasonic expands Lumix lens lineups and camera hardware
Panasonic is expanding its Lumix S and G series lens lineups with four new models. These include the S Pro 70-200mm f4, which features 6.5 stops of image stabilization, and the DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f2.8-4 ASPH for the Micro Four Thirds system. Additionally, the company is working on the Summilux 25mm f1.4 II and a G 42.5mm f1.7 ASPH.
In hardware performance, the Lumix G9II flagship Micro Four Thirds camera has introduced a phase-detect autofocus system capable of bird and animal eye-detection. While offering improved noise performance and fast burst shooting, users have noted a lack of a top LCD display and increased battery drain compared to its predecessor.
For compact full-frame use, the Lumix S9 remains a notable option for street photographers due to its 6K open gate recording capabilities and small form factor.
