Panasonic launches Japanese-inspired countertop microwave in US

Panasonic introduced a new countertop microwave that blends minimalist Japanese design with its “Genius Sensor 2.0” cooking technology. The appliance, sold on Amazon, features a matte‑black finish, a pull‑down door that eliminates the traditional turntable, and smart sensors that adjust time and heat based on food temperature.

Ryan Arai of Panasonic said the goal was to create a microwave that “enhances the flow of the kitchen” while offering “simplicity, intelligence and performance” in a modern form factor. The product is currently available only in the United States, though Panasonic highlighted the design’s appeal for compact kitchens worldwide.
