Panasonic launches new 4K broadcast cameras in India
Panasonic has introduced two new 4K cameras, the AK-UCX100 studio camera and the AK-UBX100 multi-purpose camera, at Broadcast India 2026.
The AK-UCX100 is described as the world’s first 4K studio camera with built-in Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). It features a 19.29-megapixel MOS sensor, supports HDR HLG and the BT.2020 color standard, and allows for simultaneous HDR and SDR output. The camera integrates video processing into the head, enabling operation without a conventional Camera Control Unit in certain configurations. It also supports high-speed shooting at up to 2x in 4K.
The AK-UBX100 is a compact, 1.9kg multi-purpose camera designed for flexible placement on robotic heads, cranes, gimbals, or ceiling mounts. It shares the same 19.29-megapixel MOS sensor and menu interface as the AK-UCX100 to ensure consistent color matching. Both models support IP-based connectivity, including dual 12G-SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI High Bandwidth, and SRT.
