Panasonic recalls toaster ovens in US and Canada over shock and fire risk

Panasonic is recalling more than 13,000 of its NB‑G200 electric toaster ovens sold in the United States and Canada because the power‑cord insulation may be insufficient, creating a risk of electric shock or fire. The appliances were marketed from October 2024 through April 2026 and were sold at Costco, Amazon and other retailers.

U.S. and Canadian consumer‑product safety agencies have urged owners to stop using the ovens immediately, unplug them, and return them for a full refund. The recall covers about 11,480 units in the U.S. and 2,180 in Canada. While four U.S. consumers reported tripped circuit breakers and one reported a non‑functioning unit, no injuries or fires have been reported to date.
