Panasonic releases new firmware for Lumix S9 and S1 series
Panasonic has released firmware version 2.1 for the Lumix S9, fulfilling a commitment made in September. The update significantly expands video capabilities for the compact full-frame camera, specifically regarding the MP4 (Lite) format. Users can now record in 4K at 60p and 50p, as well as Full HD at up to 120p, 100p, 60p, and 50p. This format is designed for efficient data rates and quick transfer to smartphones.
The update also enhances the functionality of the Fn button on compatible Lumix S-series lenses, allowing for control over features such as aspect ratio, electronic stabilization, focus ring control, and hybrid zoom.
Additionally, firmware updates have been released for the S1RII and the S1II series, focusing on refinements such as reduced shutter lag. Complementary software updates for Lumix Flow and Lumix Lab have also been implemented to support these new video modes and improve user interface organization.
