Panasonic to end consumer car navigation production by March 2027
Panasonic Automotive Systems has announced it will cease production of its consumer-market car navigation systems by March 2027. This move marks a complete withdrawal from the retail navigation market, following the earlier discontinuation of the ‘Gorilla’ brand. The company will continue to produce original equipment manufacturer (OEM) navigation systems for automakers.
Despite the end of production, the company intends to continue providing after-sales services for existing units. The decision follows long-standing structural challenges within the consumer-grade in-dash navigation sector.
