Panasonic to launch new DIGA recorders with cloud storage support

Panasonic is launching five new models of its ‘All-Automatic DIGA’ Blu-ray disc recorders in late October. The new lineup includes two models with 4K tuners and three models without 4K tuners, featuring hard drive capacities ranging from 2TB to 10TB.

A key feature of this series is ‘cloud recording’ support, allowing users to save recorded programs to Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. This function serves as an alternative to Blu-ray discs or external hard drives when internal storage is full and provides a backup in case of hardware failure. Users can access these cloud-saved programs via the ‘Dokodemo DIGA’ smartphone app for remote viewing.

The new recorders also introduce ‘playlist editing,’ which enables users to compile favorite scenes or highlights without altering the original recording. Additionally, a ‘program tag’ feature allows for better organization and searching by letting users add custom tags such as song names or performers. The recorders are designed to automatically record up to 10 channels for approximately 28 days, ensuring users do not miss scheduled broadcasts.
